Description[]
The mysterious product of a long-dead alien race, the Sasquatch is one of the NSDF’s greatest assets. It has far and away the greatest amount of armor of any offensive vehicle in the NSDF arsenal. The use of AT-Stabbers as the primary weapon allows the Sasquatch enough ammunition for 138 shots. Combined; this means that the Sasquatch has unmatched endurance on the battlefield, allowing it to stay in the fight for longer than other vehicles.
The Sasquatch’s primary means of propulsion is a titanium-reinforced hydraulic engine, powering the legs at no more than 8 meters per second. Part of this lumbering pace can be attributed to the weight of its thick EDD armour plating, making it a slow, but almost unstoppable attacker. Since the Sasquatch uses legs to move, it is by far the slowest vehicle deployed by the NSDF.
The Sasquatch has its origin in the aftermath of the NSDF offensive on Venus; where derelict Cthonian structures were found throughout the battlefield. These structures held knowledge and volumes of information about a new strain of Biometal; a strain so strong and dense that the metal lost it's gravity-defying characteristics.
Thus a new method of locomotion was devised, and with that, the Sasquatch attack walker was born. The first use of these mighty war machines was when Grizzly One was sent to set an ambush for a retreating CCA convoy. Only five were used against a multiple-platoon strength convoy, but the CCA column was destroyed in under a minute, far too quickly to organize a proper counter attack.
Attributes[]
Physics[]
- 5.5m/s maximum forward velocity
- 5.5m/s maximum reverse velocity
- 2m/s maximum lateral velocity
- 90°/s maximum rotation
Equipment[]
- 40mm EDD armour
- 2000 ammunition cells
Weapons[]
- Cannons (2)

Variants[]
Sasquatch AG[]
The Sasquatch AG is a much more heavily-armed variant of the Sasquatch, carrying dual MAG cannons and a Splinter mortar as standard.
Black Dog Sasquatch[]
Standard armament is twin AT-Stabbers. Walkers can operate as the mainstay of any assault, owing to the massive amount of damage they can take.
Trivia[]
- The Battlezone Manual (and therefore also the Battlezone 98 Redux Manual and the NSDF Field Briefing Guide) erroneously claim the Sasquatch can carry missiles and special weapons.
- While capable of easily destroying enemy defensive structures; it used to be difficult to hit small moving targets due to the arrangement of the primary cannons (one on each side of the torso), limiting the usefulness of the Sasquatch. Convergent aim was therefore introduced in patch 1.5. After targetting a vehicle or structure, the guns will converge at that distance.
