Elysium is the planet that the Black dogs, the Chinese and the soviets forces were trying to control for its biometal. It is100,000 light-years from Earth and its soil is composed of volcanic rock and worse still its atmosphere is hostile with constant thunderstorms and thick poisonous air. It's never mention why such planet appeared as a destination for the Chinese portal, probably was a Cthonians scientific outpost as there's is no artificial structures yet found, but it's definitely an important planet for its resources and such control of vast resources will be an advantage for any faction that controls it.
